Triaster Server Release Test

The purpose of this test is to validate that the any new versions of the Triaster server are working as intended.

Prerequisites

This is not a fresh installation. This test is designed for an upgrade or an already configured environment.
These tests should be run in order.
Process Navigator will need to be upgraded to the latest public version on the server.
Use a cloned Library or Triaster Sample Library for testing and ensure it has access to the Documents folder.
The tester will need an account with full administrator privileges.
The latter part of the test will require a download of the following file: Triaster Server test files.
Upgrade the Triaster Server, using the installer.
Upgrade the Process Navigator on the Server machine, if it is a major Server release, e.g. 18.x to 19.x.
Upgrade the Process Navigator on the PC that you are using to perform this testing, if it is a major Server release, e.g. 18.x to 19.x.

Step by step of tests

Test	Test Description	Expected outcome
Login	Load the website and click on the Administration tab. Use the provided username and password to log in.	User logged in.
Click through all the tabs	Click on the following tabs: Home, Search, Reports, Approvals, Administration, Print and Help. News and Improvement if applicable.	All pages should load without error messages. Close any new tabs before continuing.
Publish sandpit, prelive and live	Go to the Administration tab and click the publish button on each site. To change sites click the Library Explorer, under Library Management, on the left hand side of the page.	The maps will be published without error. To check this, click on the show publication logs tickbox and then click the details button. Any warnings will be displayed on this page. The HTML should also be checked, the best way to check this is to run the contents report. Which is the next test.
Run contents report	Click on the reports tab. Click on the contents report, which is generally the first report in the list.	A list of published maps should appear and be clickable. Click on any of the links to load the HTML.
Publish a new map using SVG Triaster	Copy one of the sample maps in the sandpit mapstore and rename it (/Triaster/Triasterserver2011/mapstore). Then go to the process library's Administration tab and click on Edit Configuration on the left side of the page. Click on publication settings and then global settings. Switch the publication format to SVG - Triaster. Publish the sandpit site. Make sure to switch back to SVG Triaster after this test is complete. Switch back once the test is complete.	The map should be published and viewable using the contents report.
Open a map on the homepage	Click on the home tab and click through the menu to open a map.	The map should be viewable and there should be no error messages.
Add a user	Click on the Administration tab and click edit users on the left hand side of the page under users. Click the Add New button and enter in details. Tick all the boxes and set approval all files and review all files. Click save.	User added to the list of users.
Edit a user	Click on the Administration tab and click edit users on the left hand side of the page. Click edit next to the user and change the users name. Click save.	User information changed.
Check user permissions	Add a user with user Administration. Log in with that user on the admin page.	User able to log in on the admin page.
Delete a user	Click on the Administration tab and click edit users on the left hand side of the page. Click delete next to the user.	User deleted.
Add author	Navigate back to the process library. Click on the approvals tab. Click edit author and complete the form to add author.	Author added to the list.
Edit author	Click on the approvals tab. Click edit next to the author and change the name. Click update.	Author details changed.
Delete author	Click on the approvals tab. Click edit next to the author and click delete.	Author removed from the list.
Navigate to the Library Explorer	Click on the Administration tab. Click Library Explorer on the left hand side of the page.	The list of libraries appear.
Navigate to a Library or Site using the Library Explorer	Click on the Administration tab. click Library Explorer. Click on a site or a library. Click on navigate to site/library.	The selected Library opens.
Download Theme	Click the Administration tab. on the left hand side of the page. Click Edit Configuration, click on the manage themes. Choose the Tiles theme and click download.	tiles.zip downloaded.
Upload Theme	Click the Administration tab. Click Edit Configuration, click on the manage themes. Click choose file and navigate to the Tiles.zip. It will be in the downloads folder. rename it to NewTiles.zip. Navigate back to manage themes and click upload.	NewTiles.zip should appear in the list.
Change Theme	Click on the Administration tab. On the left hand side of the page, click Edit Configuration, click on publication settings. Click Library settings. Select the Library you are working on. Select a new theme from the Theme dropdown menu. Click save changes.	Navigate back to the home page to check the theme has changed.

Test

The maps will be published without error. To check this, click on the show publication logs tickbox and then click the details button. Any warnings will be displayed on this page. The HTML should also be checked, the best way to check this is to run the contents report. Which is the next test.

Run contents report

Click on the reports tab. Click on the contents report, which is generally the first report in the list.

A list of published maps should appear and be clickable. Click on any of the links to load the HTML.

Publish a new map using SVG Triaster

Copy one of the sample maps in the sandpit mapstore and rename it (/Triaster/Triasterserver2011/mapstore). Then go to the process library's Administration tab and click on Edit Configuration on the left side of the page. Click on publication settings and then global settings. Switch the publication format to SVG - Triaster. Publish the sandpit site. Make sure to switch back to SVG Triaster after this test is complete. Switch back once the test is complete.

The map should be published and viewable using the contents report.

Open a map on the homepage

Click on the home tab and click through the menu to open a map.

The map should be viewable and there should be no error messages.

Add a user

Click on the Administration tab and click edit users on the left hand side of the page under users. Click the Add New button and enter in details. Tick all the boxes and set approval all files and review all files. Click save.

User added to the list of users.

Edit a user

Click on the Administration tab and click edit users on the left hand side of the page. Click edit next to the user and change the users name. Click save.

User information changed.

Check user permissions

Add a user with user Administration. Log in with that user on the admin page.

User able to log in on the admin page.

Delete a user

Click on the Administration tab and click edit users on the left hand side of the page. Click delete next to the user.

User deleted.

Add author

Navigate back to the process library. Click on the approvals tab. Click edit author and complete the form to add author.

Author added to the list.

Edit author

Click on the approvals tab. Click edit next to the author and change the name. Click update.

Author details changed.

Delete author

Click on the approvals tab. Click edit next to the author and click delete.

Author removed from the list.

Navigate to the Library Explorer

Click on the Administration tab. Click Library Explorer on the left hand side of the page.

The list of libraries appear.

Navigate to a Library or Site using the Library Explorer

Click on the Administration tab. click Library Explorer. Click on a site or a library. Click on navigate to site/library.

The selected Library opens.

Download Theme

Click the Administration tab. on the left hand side of the page. Click Edit Configuration, click on the manage themes. Choose the Tiles theme and click download.

tiles.zip downloaded.

Upload Theme

Click the Administration tab. Click Edit Configuration, click on the manage themes. Click choose file and navigate to the Tiles.zip. It will be in the downloads folder. rename it to NewTiles.zip. Navigate back to manage themes and click upload.

NewTiles.zip should appear in the list.

Change Theme

Click on the Administration tab. On the left hand side of the page, click Edit Configuration, click on publication settings. Click Library settings. Select the Library you are working on. Select a new theme from the Theme dropdown menu. Click save changes.

Navigate back to the home page to check the theme has changed.

The next set of tests will require the various maps and documents, which can be downloaded from here: Triaster Server test files. Once this file has been downloaded extract the files within the zip.

Publish a map with a document	Place Approved map 1 in the sandpit maps folder. The usual path for this is C:\Triaster\Triasterserver2011\mapstore\triaster sample library\sandpit maps. Once the publish has completed, use the quick search in the top right to search for approved map 1. Click on the hyperlink that appears. When the map loads, click on the shape that says "shape with document". This should load a text file in the browser that is called "ActivityDocument.txt".
Publish a map with a hyperlink	On the same map click the shape that is labelled saying it has a hyperlink attached. Execute the link.	The link will take you to https://www.bbc.co.uk.
Approvals test 1 - approve a map set to new	Place all remaining maps in the sandpit maps folder for the Triaster sample library. The usual path for this is C:\Triaster\Triasterserver2011\mapstore\triaster sample library\sandpit maps. Navigate back to the Administration page of the triaster sample Library sandpit site and click the publish button.	Navigate to the prelive site. Use the Library Explorer on the Administration page to do so. Click on the approvals tab and tick the box that says "show maps for all approvers". Select Approved map 1 and click confirm to approve it. Navigate to the live site of the triaster sample Library using the Library Explorer on the Administration tab and click on the reports tab. Wait for the publish to finish. Run the contents report and confirm that approved map 1 is in the list. Click on approved map 1 to confirm it loads.
Approvals test 2 - set a map to not be ready for approval	The map will have been published in the previous test.	Check the C:\Triaster\Triasterserver2011\mapstore\triaster sample library\prelive maps folder to make sure "Not ready for approval.vsdx" is not in there.
Approvals test 3 - approve a map set to modified	Navigate to the prelive site. Click the approvals tab. Click on show maps for all approvers and send the approved map 2 through to approval by ticking the box, Clicking next and clicking confirm.	Navigate to the live site using the Library Explorer on the Administration page. Wait for the publishes to finish. Click on the reports tab and run the contents report. Approved map 2 should be in the contents report. Click on approved map 2 and confirm that the map loads.
Approvals test 4 - send a map back for rework	Navigate back to the prelive site using the Library Explorer on the Administration page. Click on the approvals tab. Click on show all maps for approvers. Select "Not ready for Approval" and click rework. Type in the comment box "rework". Click confirm.	Click the Administration tab and wait for the publish to end. Click the Approvals tab and click show maps for all approvers and check the map is not in the list.
Search by maps	Navigate to the live site using the Library Explorer on the Administration tab. Click on the search tab. Click search maps. Search for "Approved map 1".	The map should appear in the list.
Search by role	Click on the search tab. Click search maps by role. Use the menu on the left to search for maps containing "Customer Success Administrator"	Approved map 2 should be in the list.
Search by owner	Click on the search tab. Click search maps by owner. use the menu on the left to search for maps with Customer Success Team Lead as the owner.	Approved map 2 should appear in the list.
Process tree	Click on the search tab. Click on process tree.	All process trees should be listed.
Change history	Click on the search tab. Click on Change History. Select a date range and click go.	The list should be populated with maps that have been changed, and the links to the maps should be clickable and load correct maps.
Change history 2	Click on the search tab. Click on Change History. Select a completely different date range and click go.	The list should change.
RACI report	Click on the reports tab. Click on the RACI analysis report. It is in the '1.General' section.	Maps will be listed with RACI properties displayed beside each map.
Hyperlinks report	Click on the reports tab. Click on the 'list of hyperlinks' report.	All hyperlinks in maps should be listed. Https://bbc.co.uk should be in the list.
Menu editor listed published content.	Click on the Administration tab. Click the menu editor, under library management, on the left hand side of the page. Click on list published content.	The list of published content should be approved map 1 and approved map 2.
Menu editor	Click on the Administration tab. Click on the menu editor. Click on list published content. Drag a map from this list over to the menu and place it anywhere inside the first folder. E.g. Level 1/approved map 1. Click save changes.	Navigate to the home page and click through the menu to where the map is placed. In the example given it would be Level 1/My map.
Menu editor deletion	Click on the Administration tab. Click on the menu editor. Expand the first folder. Click on one of the folders or maps inside this and, using the menu on the right, click delete. Click save changes and refresh the page to check it is gone.	Check the home page has accepted the changes.
Help	Click on the home tab. Click the help tab.	The button should take you Triasters help pages.
Quick search	The quick search bar is in the top right of the screen and is visible on all tabs. Using the quick search bar: search for the following: 'approved map 1' and then 'test activity'.	The first search should return approved map 1 and the second search should return approved map 2.
Refresh Search	Place ActivityDocument.txt in the documents folder. The normal location for this is C:\Triaster\Documents. Click Administration tab. Click refresh search on the left hand menu. Click refresh.	This should not cause an error. The next test is related to this test.
Quick search a document	The quick search bar is in the top right of the screen and is visible on all tabs. Using the quick search bar search for 'ActivityDocument'.	ActivityDocument.txt should appear in the list.
Clone a library	Navigate to the Administration page and click clone library. Clone the sample library. Call the Library Test Library 1.	Access the newly cloned via the Library Explorer on the Administration tab.
publish all sites in the cloned library	Use the Library Explorer to navigate to the newly cloned library. Also use the Library exlorer to switch sites. Publish sandpit, prelive and live sites.	On each site, once the publication has finished, navigate to the Administration page and scroll down. Check the check box called "show publication logs". Click details. There should be no warning messages here. Next, click on the reports tab. Click on the contents report and then click a map that appears in this list. The map should load in the browser. Do this for all three sites.
Clone a site	Navigate to the Administration page and click clone site. Clone a site in the test Library 1. Call it test site 1.	Navigate to the site using the Library Explorer on the Administration page.
Delete a Cloned site	Navigate to the Administration page and click Library Explorer. Click on test site 1 and click 'delete site' on the right hand side of the page.	The site is deleted. Check the Library Explorer for the site.
Delete a Cloned library	Navigate to the Administration page and click Library Explorer. Click Test Library 1 and click 'delete site' on the right hand side of the page.	The Library is deleted and should not appear in the Library Explorer.
Download settings file	Navigate to the Administration page and click settings file from the left menu. Click on download settings.	settings.xml is downloaded to downloads folder.
Upload settings file	Navigate to the Administration page and click settings file from the left menu. Click on choose file or browse (browser dependent), choose the settings.xml that was just downloaded. Click upload settings file.	settings.xml uploaded without error.
Download search files	Navigate to the Administration page and click search files from the left menu. Click on download search files.	search files downloaded to the downloads folder in a .zip format.
Download log files	Navigate to the Administration page and click log files from the left menu. Click on download log files.	log files downloaded to the downloads folder in a .zip format.
Clear queue	Start a publish on any site. When the publish has moved into the publications in progress window on the Administration page. Scroll down the left menu and click clear queue.	The publish is stopped and the queue is cleared. There will be no publishes in either publication window.
Change password	Click on the Administration tab. Log out using the left menu and click the change password button on the login page.	Email sent and the password is changed correctly.
Change properties file location	Click Edit Configuration, click on the General tab and enter the location of the properties file and click Save Changes.	Properties file location changed and the changes should persist when re-entering the menu. Change the properties file back to the original location once you are done.

Click on the reports tab. Click on the RACI analysis report. It is in the '1.General' section.

Clone a site

Navigate to the Administration page and click clone site. Clone a site in the test Library 1. Call it test site 1.

Navigate to the site using the Library Explorer on the Administration page.

Delete a Cloned site

Navigate to the Administration page and click Library Explorer. Click on test site 1 and click 'delete site' on the right hand side of the page.

The site is deleted. Check the Library Explorer for the site.

Delete a Cloned library

Navigate to the Administration page and click Library Explorer. Click Test Library 1 and click 'delete site' on the right hand side of the page.

The Library is deleted and should not appear in the Library Explorer.

Download settings file

Navigate to the Administration page and click settings file from the left menu. Click on download settings.

settings.xml is downloaded to downloads folder.

Upload settings file

Navigate to the Administration page and click settings file from the left menu. Click on choose file or browse (browser dependent), choose the settings.xml that was just downloaded. Click upload settings file.

Download search files

Navigate to the Administration page and click search files from the left menu. Click on download search files.

Clear queue

Start a publish on any site. When the publish has moved into the publications in progress window on the Administration page. Scroll down the left menu and click clear queue.

The publish is stopped and the queue is cleared. There will be no publishes in either publication window.

Change password

Click on the Administration tab. Log out using the left menu and click the change password button on the login page.

Email sent and the password is changed correctly.

Change properties file location

Click Edit Configuration, click on the General tab and enter the location of the properties file and click Save Changes.

Properties file location changed and the changes should persist when re-entering the menu. Change the properties file back to the original location once you are done.

upload multiple reports report	Navigate to the reports folder that was just downloaded. Extract the contents of the folder. Copy a an XML and XSLT file of the same name (e.g. contents.xml and contents.xslt). Rename the copied files to testreport2.xml and testreport2.xslt. Select both these files and compress into a ZIP file. Navigate back to the process library and then back to the Reports tab. Click the choose file button and select 'testreport2.ZIP' and click upload reports.	To validate that these reports have uploaded check the reports folder C:\triaster\triasterserver2011\reports or click download reports and check for the files. Next click on the reports tab on the process library and check the list for 'testreport2'
Change drilldown and off page connector behaviour to single click.	Click on the administration tab. Click edit configuration in the menu on the left hand side of the screen. Click publication settings. Change 'SVG click behaviour (single click, Double click)' to 'Hyperlink, Properties'.	Navigate to a published map with a drilldown and off page connector. Single click on the drilldown to go to the drilled down map. Double click on the drilldown shape to bring up properties. Next, single click the off page connector and the next map should be loaded.
Download mapstore page loaded	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore.	Upload or download mapstore page loaded.
Download mapstore	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore. Click download mapstore.	Navigate to the download and unzip and check the correct maps are insidie.
Upload single map	From the mapstore just downloaded, copy and paste a map. Rename the map to 'upload test'.On the process library, click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore. Click choose file and navigate to the 'upload test' map and click upload mapstore.	Click Download mapstore and check if 'upload test' is in the mapstore.
Upload multiple maps	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore. Click download mapstore. Navigate to the download and rename the zip 'upload multiple maps test'. Navigate back to the upload or download mapstore page. Click choose file and select the zip file. Click upload mapstore.	Click download mapstore and check the new folder is contained and the maps are also within the folder.
Load file manager	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click download file manager.	File manager loaded without error.
Download map using file manager	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click file manager. Expand Mapstore and click on Triaster Sample Library. Click on one of the maps in the table and click the download button (downward facing arrow) at the top of the table.	Check the map was downloaded
upload map using file manager mapstore	Navigate to the map that was just downloaded and rename it. Navigate back to the file manager and expand mapstore, Triaster sample library and live maps. Click browse and select the file that was just renamed.	The file will be in the live maps list.
Delete a map in file manager	Select the map that was just uploaded and click the 'X' at the top of the button.	The map will be deleted and removed from the list.
Click the refresh button in file manager	Click the circluar arrows inbetween the delete and download button.	The list will be reloaded.
Download a folder in file manager	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Expand mapstore and Triaster Sample Library. Click on the live maps folder and click the download button (downward facing arrow).	Check the folder was downloaded.
Upload folder of maps	Navigate to the live maps folder that was just downloaded, change the name of the folder to 'testing'. Navigate back to the file manager and in the menu expand mapstore, triaster sample library and click on live maps. Drag and rog the folder onto the table.	The folder of maps will be in the live maps folder under 'testing'. Expand the live maps folder in the menu to see the folder.
Download a report in file manager	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click on the reports folder. Click any XML and click the download button (downward facing arrow) at the top of the table. Click the XSLT file with the same name and download that too.	Check downloads for the XML and XSLT file that was downloaded.
Upload a report using file manager	Navigate to the downloaded XML and XSLT files. Rename them to 'test.XML' and 'test.XSLT'. Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore. Click file manager. Click the reports folder. Click browse and select the 'test.XML' file. Click browse again select the 'test.XSLT'. Click upload.	Check the reports list in file manager for 'test.XML' and 'test.XSLT'.
Delete reports in file manager	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click the reports folder. Find 'test.XML' and 'test.XSLT' and select them and click the 'X' button at the top of the table.	The files will be deleted and will no longer be in the list.
Click technical administrator in file manager	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click the technical administrator radio button.	More folders will appear in the menu.
Click customer administrator in file manager	Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click the customer administrator radio button.	Mapstore and Reports folder will be visible.

Click the reports button on the admin page

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click reports.

Download the reports folder

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click reports. Click download reports.

A zip file should be downloaded and it should contain reports. It will have XML and XSLT files inside.

upload a report

Navigate to the reports folder that was just downloaded. Extract the contents of the folder. Copy a an XML and XSLT file of the same name (e.g. contents.xml and contents.xslt). Rename the copied files to testreport1.xml and testreport1.xslt. Navigate back to the process library and then back to the Reports tab. Click the choose file button and select 'testreport1.xml' and click upload reports. Click choose file again and select 'testreport1.xslt' and click upload reports.

To validate that these reports have uploaded check the reports folder C:\triaster\triasterserver2011\reports or click download reports and check for the files. Next click on the reports tab on the process library and check the list for 'testreport1'

upload multiple reports report

Navigate to the reports folder that was just downloaded. Extract the contents of the folder. Copy a an XML and XSLT file of the same name (e.g. contents.xml and contents.xslt). Rename the copied files to testreport2.xml and testreport2.xslt. Select both these files and compress into a ZIP file. Navigate back to the process library and then back to the Reports tab. Click the choose file button and select 'testreport2.ZIP' and click upload reports.

Change drilldown and off page connector behaviour to single click.

Click on the administration tab. Click edit configuration in the menu on the left hand side of the screen. Click publication settings. Change 'SVG click behaviour (single click, Double click)' to 'Hyperlink, Properties'.

Navigate to a published map with a drilldown and off page connector. Single click on the drilldown to go to the drilled down map. Double click on the drilldown shape to bring up properties. Next, single click the off page connector and the next map should be loaded.

Download mapstore page loaded

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore.

Upload or download mapstore page loaded.

Download mapstore

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore. Click download mapstore.

Navigate to the download and unzip and check the correct maps are insidie.

Upload single map

From the mapstore just downloaded, copy and paste a map. Rename the map to 'upload test'.On the process library, click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore. Click choose file and navigate to the 'upload test' map and click upload mapstore.

Click Download mapstore and check if 'upload test' is in the mapstore.

Upload multiple maps

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click mapstore. Click download mapstore. Navigate to the download and rename the zip 'upload multiple maps test'. Navigate back to the upload or download mapstore page. Click choose file and select the zip file. Click upload mapstore.

Click download mapstore and check the new folder is contained and the maps are also within the folder.

Load file manager

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click download file manager.

Download map using file manager

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click file manager. Expand Mapstore and click on Triaster Sample Library. Click on one of the maps in the table and click the download button (downward facing arrow) at the top of the table.

Check the map was downloaded

Navigate to the map that was just downloaded and rename it. Navigate back to the file manager and expand mapstore, Triaster sample library and live maps. Click browse and select the file that was just renamed.

The file will be in the live maps list.

The map will be deleted and removed from the list.

Download a report in file manager

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click the reports folder. Find 'test.XML' and 'test.XSLT' and select them and click the 'X' button at the top of the table.

The files will be deleted and will no longer be in the list.

Click technical administrator in file manager

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click the technical administrator radio button.

More folders will appear in the menu.

Click customer administrator in file manager

Click on the administration tab. Then on the left hand side of the page in the 'system maintenance' menu, click file manager. Click the customer administrator radio button.

Mapstore and Reports folder will be visible.
